Today is the National Exam for Mathematics. I had to care for a brood of Tamil pupils, almost half of them Tamilians. There was one girl in the group, Agalya.
She looked a little worried and I asked her: What is 2 + 2 ?
She answered : 4
And I beamed and said : Nee Paass Aayiduve!
Vignesh behind her and I asked him : What is 16 + 16 ?
and he said : 32
I beamed brighter and said : Nee Honours Vaangiduve!
Agalya said : Aaaaasiriyaaar....
And I said: Kanitha Methai Raamaanujan Vazhiyila vanthavangammaa neenga.. Kannnndippa nallaa seyveenga.
To that, the girl asked me with mischief in her eyes : Kanitha Methai Raamaanujan NAMMMMMA School la thaan padichchaangalaa, aasiriyar????
